DRUM MAJORS

Our 2009-2010 Drum Majors are 8th Gr DM Carissa S, 7th Gr DM Lizzy F, and assistant DM Shelby Ross. All 3 DMs worked hard all summer. All 3 attended DM camp in Fresno in June. Carissa and Lizzie also attended a 2nd camp in August. As usual, SMS DMs brought home most of the top awards given at the Bakersfield Camp. Since school started they have been doing an awesome job working with and leading the band. They have also been practicing after school with our SMS DM Coach. Our DMs are becoming awesome leaders.

Carissa led us at our 1st competition, Garces, and scored a near-perfect 98 out of 100. Lizzy and Carissa shared the Veterans Day parade and were awesome. Lizzy led us at Stockdale and kept our proud DM tradition alive, winning the top DM award. Carissa led at Centennial, where DM's were not judged separately. Our two 7th graders led us together at the NOR parade.

It will soon be time to select drum majors for next year! Stay Tuned for more info!
