Warrior Band Test TakersUpdated 5/12/08
WOW! Time is sure moving fast here as the end of the year approaches. For 4th Q WB/CB will have 4 tests assigned. These tests are slightly different in that some have to be done in a group and some are individual tests. All have to be finished before we go to Knotts on May 13th.
The FIRST test had to be done by April 10 and can no longer be made up. The assignment was to attend one lunch (or 2 breaks in a few cases) sectionals to work on CMEA festival music. CB members were excused from this test. ALL WB members except Michaela D, Nikki C and Nathaniel passed this test.
The SECOND test is now in progress. ALL WB/CB members(except percussion) have to attend a sectional as assigned to work on Spring Concert music. All flutes have met this requirement. All Clarinets have now had their sectional. FL and AM need to do a MakeUp All trumpets passed their sectional except EC, JF, and QW. Horns are ALL OK. Low Brass and Bass Clarinets are OK except for KB. The rest of the sectionals will be assigned May 5-9. (NOTE: a sectional is when one small section of the band gets together to work on their music with the director)
TESTS 3&4 (except percussion) are to play 2 of the 6 Knotts songs by memory for me. Students choose which songs to play. So far, the following students have completed this task.

Percussion section's tests are to attend sectionials to work on a percussion ensemble piece for graduation. Attendance has been good so far, with students only missing when they are absent.
For 3rd Quarter WB/CB has 5 Tests assigned . They are all on a new sheet, called "Concert Scale Studies"
Tests grade is approx 55% of the grade. Another portion of the grade is "class effort". Everyone starts with an "A". After 2 free "black marks", the grade drops for each one. A= 0-2, B=3, C=4,D=5,F=6. Black Marks include: NI no instrument, NM no music brought to class, IL/ML instrument or music left at school on a Friday, ND student received noon detention for not following class rules, W student warned for talking, fooling around or other violations M/E music, instrument, equipment not put away properely. (A) Absences and (T) tardies are not counted as black marks but poor attendance can impact a grade.
